Prayer is the relationship between us and God. I take everything to him in prayer…my day, my family, friends, any requests I might have because I know he cares about each one. I ask him to bring every thought under his control. “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”
Matthew 21:22 ESV

Prayer is something that we can’t be ashamed of because Jesus says if we are ashamed of him, our Heavenly Father will be ashamed of us; and we want to hear, “Enter in, thy good and faithful servant,” not, “Depart from me, ye worker of iniquity. I never knew you.” (Matthew 25:21; 7:23)

Prayer and Work
For me, prayer and work go hand in hand because everything good in my life comes from God. He gives me the ability to work and sends me work to take care of my family and to help others along life’s way. The Bible says that everything we do in word or deed, should be done as unto the Lord.

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,”
Colossians 3:23 ESV

Prayer is also not for show. The Bible says go to your closet and pray in secret and your Father who hears in secret will reward you openly. (Matthew 6:6) So, you see it is personal between us and God; and he loves to hear from us often. I wouldn’t want to go to sleep at night without the peace of knowing that my Heavenly Father is in my heart.
